The Players Play, the Spectators Party….all is right with the world!

March 5 – 18, Indian Wells Tennis Garden, Indian Wells

For die-hard tennis fans around the world, the BNP Paribas in Indian Wells is by far one of the most anticipated and well-attended tennis championships in the world.

Considered the “Fifth Grand Slam,” by many, the BNP Paribas is a two-week combined event. There, the world’s best tennis players take center court, slamming and smashing their way through the ranks of hard-hitting competitors.  All the while, court-side spectators sit riveted, heads shifting side-to-side, oohing, aaahing, and cheering, with every match won and lost.

The beauty and onsite excitement of the BNP Paribas is a major draw not only for locals but for tennis fans from all over the world. Drawn to the warmth, thousands come to enjoy the sights, sounds and food, and to cheer on their favorite players.  Owned by Larry Ellison, CEO Oracle, the Tennis Garden’s Stadium 1 with its 16,100 seats is now the second-largest tennis stadium in the country.

Every bit as impressive is the setting.  The 122-acre site sports sixty-two palm trees, acres of vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and two large fountains, a retail center and a food village, offering both casual fare and fine dining. For Stadium 1 ticketholders, those with more distinctive palates will appreciate Wolfgang Puck’s Michelin Star rated Spago, and Nobu, while Stadium 2 ticketholders can partake of tasty delights from a local favorite, Wally’s Desert Turtle.

Only the World’s Best Players

Of course, it’s the tennis players that people come to cheer on. New mom Serena Williams returns to WTA after giving birth to her daughter in September 2017. Serena, two-time BNP champion in 1999, 2001, is striving to become the first-ever three-time women’s winner. Venus Williams, Serena’s sister will also play, as will eight other former singles champions, including the new No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki.

In men’s singles, 2017 BNP champion and world No.2 Roger Federer returns to defend his record-tying fifth BNP title against the world’s new top-ranked player and three-time BNP winner Rafael Nadal, and fellow five-time champion Novak Djokovic.

Economic Boon for Coachella Valley

A study conducted by George Washington University stated that a total of 439,261 fans attended the BNP Paribas over the two-week period in March 2017, and that 87 percent of all spectators (123,675) traveled from outside the Coachella Valley.

Last year’s event saw $406 million added to the Coachella Valley regional economy and expectations are that 2018’s event will easily match that amount or more. Thanks to Larry Ellison’s (CEO of Oracle) purchase in December 2009, and major investments in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, the BNP continues to grow in importance, size, and fan experience.

Indian Wells, Homes and Neighborhoods of Distinction

The crown jewel of Coachella Valley, Indian Wells is the most visually striking and beautiful. It is a favorite global business and vacation gathering spot for executives, celebrities and athletes.

Indian Wells is home to four luxury hotel resorts, featuring acclaimed events, fine dining, spas, and recreation.
The homes and properties of Indian Wells are stunning and steeped in luxury. From custom classics and inspired mid-centuries, to elegant contemporaries, homes here are as beautiful, as any imaginable.

Equally impressive are the neighborhoods, lush with vibrant gardens, many are oriented around Golf, Tennis or Spa Resort amenities. The spectacular vistas of the Santa Rosa Mountains make it hard to believe that Indian Wells is real, and not just the backdrop for an amazing movie.
